A man on the side of the highway was pulling a dead, upside-down deer by its hind leg. I began to think about the complex relationship between human development and the wild animals that have to adapt to this new habitat.  When viewing these artworks of animals shown upside-down, one has the tendency to struggle with the desire to turn them around. This tension is indicative of the struggle between man and the natural world.
